ATTENTION: A DRIVER IS NEEDED FOR YOU TO TAKE YOU HOME AFTER YOUR PROCEDURE. THE MEDICATIONS THAT ARE ADMINISTERED ARE SUCH THAT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LEAVE THE OFFICE WITHOUT A DRIVER. YOUR DRIVER NEEDS TO BE AT THE OFFICE FROM START TO FINISH OF YOUR PROCEDURE. Step 1: Three Days Prior To Your Procedure Obtain, from any pharmacy, one of the Fleet Brand products listed below:

Step 2: The Day Before Your Procedure

Your Diet The Day Before The Procedure:

Note: Any time in the dietary menu below that states "clear liquid," this includes, but is not limited to, the following liquids:

Soft Drinks such as Pepsi, Coke, Sprite, Diet Coke, Ginger Ale.
Coffee (no creamer), Tea (hot or cold, no creamer), Water
Fruit Juices such as apple, white grape, white cranberry.
Kool-Aid, Gatorade, Jello, popsicles (avoid red and purple).
Beef broth and chicken broth without noodles.

Avoid orange juice, milk, and any purple or red juices.
AVOID alcoholic beverages.

Breakfast: You may have a boiled egg, some dry white toast, a can of Ensure, a piece of skinless chicken or turkey. Any clear liquids of your choice.

Lunch: Clear Liquids Only.

Dinner: Clear Liquids Only.

At 7:00 P.M. the evening before your exam, mix 1.5 fluid ounces of Fleet Phospho-Soda with 1/2 glass of clear liquids and drink. According to the Fleet website, ginger ale seems to work extremely well.

Follow this dose with one full glass (8 ounces) of clear liquids.

Before going to bed, be sure to drink at least three (3) more full glasses of clear liquids.

Do NOT have any more clear liquids or solid foods after midnight.

Step 3: The Day Of Your Procedure

At 4:30 A.M. or 3 hours before your exam is scheduled, mix the other 1.5 fluid ounces of Fleet Phospho-Soda with 1/2 glass of clear liquids and drink.

Follow this morning dose with a full glass of clear liquids.

You may brush your teeth and gargle, but otherwise, do not eat or drink anything else.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICATIONS:

If you are diabetic: please inform the nurse on arrival.
Do NOT take any oral glucose medication on the morning of your exam. If you take insulin, please only take half of your usual morning dose.

If you are taking heart medications or blood pressure pills, please
DO NOT STOP TAKING YOUR MEDICATIONS.
